Home School Hop is held from 11am -1 pm every Wednesday of the month during the Charleston County school year (if school is not in session, this program is not available).
$5 for a half hour jump

Tickets can be purchased for homeschooled students in grades K-8 for $7.50 each and grades 9-12 for $11.50 each. Parent tickets are $14.00 each. Member families may participate for $5.00 per student. Additional charges apply for Sea Turtle Hospital behind-the-scenes tours and 4-D Theater experiences.

On the third Friday of each month we have "Home School History Days" from 10 until 11 a.m. These programs include a special tour or class, an activity, and a chance to go through the Museum. Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens 500 Wildlife Parkway, Columbia, SC 29210
Families with homeschooled children ages 5–13 can partake in hands-on learning experiences during the Zoo’s new HomeschoolPrograms, offered quarterly. Budding gardeners ages 8–13 can also become certified green thumbs in the Junior Master Gardener program for Homeschoolers.
Homeschool Monday (ages 5–13) We offer a new class six times per year that will focus on a particular topic, include hands-on activities and feature live animal encounters or guided Zoo tours. Topics change monthly so you can visit again and again!

Junior Master Gardeners for Homeschool (ages 7–12)
JMG provides an opportunity for youth to interact and bond with nature through hands-on gardening, scientific experiments and arts. This session is held on Wednesdays beginning in September and meets every two weeks. Students complete certification for the entire program during this time. Participants are required to do a set number of group activities with the leaders, as well as individual activities each week on their own, in order to obtain certification.
Level 1 (ages 7–9) explores insects, plant life, fruits and vegetables, design, and more.
Level 2 (ages 10–12) focuses on plant growth and propagation methods, as well as the effects of soil and water cycles on plants.
